The not so far Getaway

stay in our convenient wilderness

King Bedroom Upstairs

WELCOME

Looking to get away, but not that far away? Tired of camping in a parking lot, but still need your WiFi and soda? Cedar Canyon Retreat provides the best of both worlds! Nestled in a wooded canyon, we are just 5 minutes from Cedar City.
We have a variety of affordable accommodations, including our 4-bedroom log cabin, RV sites with full hookups, and several tent campsites.

Winter Updates

For the first time, we are staying open this winter! We hope we can help you enjoy the outdoors in the "off-season." As you visit us between November and March, be prepared for variable conditions, including freezing temperatures, snow, and mud.
Long-term Rentals
: Although we don't normally have long-term rentals, we are welcoming a few over the winter. Please call us at the number below for more information.
Big Rigs: If you have a trailer or motorhome over 36ft long, please review our page on big rigs. Based on our first couple years with our small heavily wooded park, we have found that it is difficult to accommodate a trailer or motorhome over 42ft long.
Telecom: many people ask about our Internet and phone access. Because we are in a canyon several miles from town, our options are limited. Currently, we get good T-Mobile service, but not much AT&T and Verizon. We provide free WiFi, but our only option is satellite (Starlink); thus we cannot guarantee high-speed bandwidth for you teleworkers, but it has been fine for typical guests, like one streaming device per site, perhaps slower in the evening when demand is higher.

Highway 14 is one of Utah's most scenic drives. In our neighborhood are arches, waterfalls, and plenty of room for hiking, biking, snowmobiling, and sledding. Cedar Breaks National Monument is 20 minutes away, while Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Brian Head Resort are just a short drive.
It is a beautiful place with plenty of things to do around the property. It snowed on our last night and it was just magical. I wish we could have stayed forever.

Amazing in so many ways. We will be back!

A fun place to get away and relax! The location is convenient to Cedar City and exploring the great outdoors. The owners are friendly and quick to respond to questions/concerns.

Location, location, location! What a beautiful place in the canyon, literally minutes from Cedar City and the Shakespearean Festival. Space to spread out a family or two. We especially enjoyed the garden with squash and corn growing, and the strawberry patch. Should we vacation in southern Utah again, this property would be our number one choice for accommodations.
Michael
Easily accessible from Cedar City, this property was a perfect retreat for our visit to the Cedar City Shakespeare Festival. We really enjoyed being out of town--the stars shine so brightly up the canyon! We loved sitting in the hottub between shows. Definitely worth a repeat visit!
Jill
We enjoyed the property with a lot of different amenities, the home was clean and comfortable and the views are amazing. Waking up in the mountains is amazing.
Stuart
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The added amenities of the pool table and ping pong table were a hit with the kids! It was close to the city for a quick trip for forgotten supplies and yet we felt very secluded and away from it all because of the trees that keep it hidden from the road. The hosts were very responsive and helpful with questions we had both before our stay and during. Highly recommended!

Want time in an amazing resort with prices better than a hotel. Stay here. Quiet, comfortable, clean and such a blast for us. We wished we had more time! Will definitely come back!!!
Andy
This is easily the best campground I have experienced. I could not be happier.
